BRANDING
My Personal Brand
WHO AM I?
When I first started working on my personal brand I asked myself many questions, and the main one was: 'who am I' which to me was very important. Especially if I was to apply this branding to business cards or stationary I want to appear like a safe pair of hands to the customer and be someone who they can trust.
HOW WILL I BE SEEN?
Getting the name to work with the wordmark was tricky. Personally, I wanted to be known as Jonathon Wilsdon, as I feel there is no better way to be heard through word of mouth than just your name. Bu then the problems come with people asking, 'what do I do?' So for this I felt the name would have to relate to my subject area in being a designer covering many fields.
INVESTING IN MY FUTURE
I felt one way to boost me as a freelance designer, to be known in industry and also to build a network of other designers - was to create business cards. I hate when I hear people referring to them as old and dated - as far as I'm concerned it's a physical way for someone to have all your details and information in one place, that it not only practical but also cheap and reliable. I put together a design for a business card which I plan to spread about in shops, reception rooms, classrooms and many more locations to be visible.
